1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password.
Document content: Documents you upload for analysis are processed in memory only. They are never written to disk, stored in a database, or retained after the analysis is complete.
Usage data: We store metadata about your scans (document name, type, risk score, timestamp) in your scan history — but never the actual document content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the AI document analysis service
- To manage your account and credit balance
- To send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, account security)
- To respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use document content to train AI models.
3. AI Processing
Document analysis is powered by Google Gemini AI, an enterprise-grade platform. Document text is transmitted to Gemini for analysis and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. No document content is retained by Google beyond the scope of the API request.
4. Payments
Payment processing is handled by Paddle, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider acting as Merchant of Record. ScanDoc Expert does not store or have access to your payment card details.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to save your language preference and authentication session. We use an HTTP-only session cookie for secure authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your account. Scan history metadata is retained until you delete it manually or request account deletion. Document content is never retained.
7. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability: Export your scan history
- Correction: Update inaccurate personal information

8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, bcrypt password hashing, HTTP-only cookies, and JWT-based authentication. However, no system is 100% secure — we recommend using a unique, strong password.
